Patricia Ceballos MD FAAD
Patricia Ceballos, M.D. is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology and a board certified dermatopathologist. She is a graduate of the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine Department of Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery where she was the recipient of the Upjohn Research Award in 1990. In 1993 she completed her Dermatopathology fellowship at Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts. Prior to obtaining specialty degrees, she received her degree in Internal Medicine from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and completed an Internal Medicine internship at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida. Dr. Ceballos obtained her Bachelor of Arts with Honors in Chemistry at Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts.
Dr. Ceballos is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and a member of the American Society of Dermatopathology, the American Society for Mohs Surgery and the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery. She was appointed faculty as Assistant Professor in the New York University Department of Dermatology in 1994-95. Dr. Ceballos held lectures at the Advances in Dermatology Conferences at NYU in 1994 and in 1995 and was a guest lecturer at the Cornell University Medical Center Department of Pediatrics Grand Rounds Conference in 1995. That same year she was Coordinator of the Dermatopathology Board Review Course held at NYU.
Dr. Ceballos has co-authored major review articles in the New England Journal of Medicine and in Advances in Dermatology. She has co-authored articles and abstracts in various prestigious medical journals including the Journal of Cutaneous Pathology, the Archives of Dermatology, the Journal of Investigative Dermatology, the Journal of Dermatologic Surgery and Oncology, the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, and Experimental Cell Research.
Her many interests include Dermatologic Surgery, particularly the surgical management of skin cancers with the Moh's micrographic surgical technique; Dermatopathology; Cosmetic Dermatology including Botox applications to treat hyperfunctional facial lines and rhytides, filler injections for facial rejuvenation, and fractional laser resurfacing for acne scarring, sun-damaged skin and rejuvenation. Dr. Ceballos is experienced in the laser treatment of cutaneous vascular lesions and hyperpigmentation (sun spots and melasma). She is presently affiliated with Baptist Hospital and South Miami Hospital.
Her primary interests outside the medical field is the study of foreign languages and literature, particularly French and Italian.
