Sergio Gaitan MD FAAD

Dr. Sergio Gaitan was born and raised in Miami, Florida. He graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Florida where he was an officer of the Tau Beta Pi engineering honor society. He attended medical school at Baylor College of Medicine where he graduated with High Honors and was elected to membership in the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Society. After completing a transitional year at Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego, he completed a residency in Dermatology at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill.

Dr. Gaitan's interests include cosmetic, medical, and pediatric dermatology. He has published articles in multiple peer reviewed medical journals including Seminars in Plastic Surgery, International Ophthalmology Clinic, and Pediatric Dermatology. He has also co-authored several articles on anesthesia methods in laser resurfacing and laser and light techniques in facial aesthetics and presented numerous educational conferences at The University of North Carolina and Duke University Medical Center. Dr. Gaitan is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology and is fluent in English and Spanish
